Many transactions with Inland Revenue remain paper-based. There is a telephone service, but during peak times delays are common.

What is being proposed
Current records for each taxpaying entity will be available online, and through their payroll and accounting software.
Taxpaying entities using accounting software that meets Inland Revenue guidelines will be able to use the software to access their tax records.
They will also be able to log on to the Inland Revenue website and access their income tax, GST and PAYE information, including current transaction records.
Having routine transactions dealt with electronically will free up Inland Revenue to deal with more complex queries.

Payments and other transactions are immediately recorded in Mahi Trust’s accounting software, so it can get a view of its current position at any time.
